We are so excited to start the first year of the Cambridge Business Crawl!


We’ve tried to make the process of participating in the Cambridge Business Crawl as easy as possible for you but your active promotion of the event and participation in spreading the word is 100% necessary. 


In-Store Materials to be delivered Thursday, Sept 28th and Friday, September 29th
We will be providing you with the following material to display in your store:

• One brochure stand and Passports to display in them. (More passports will be available as needed)
• One plastic poster stand (8.5 x 11) for your front cash 
• An 8.5 x 11 poster for each cash register. 
• A sign for your front door identifying you as a stop on the Cambridge Business Crawl
• One custom stamp to "validate" participant passports and a uniquely coloured ink pad.
• A ballot box for you to use for your in store giveaway
• Here is a link to a file for you to use for creation of your ballots for the in store draw. It is the responsibility of the Featured Businesses to each make their own ballots.

Event Promotion In-Store
In order to protect the Cambridge Business Crawl’s legal status as a “contest” in Canada, no purchase will be necessary to enter the contest. That means we cannot require that a contest participant buy something in your store to enter. That being said, the event is launching right at the beginning of Christmas shopping season, so we encourage you to run a special or a promotion connected to the Crawl during the contest period (October 2 – 28). Your participation in promoting the event to your customers is critical to making this a successful event for everyone involved. 

Event Promotion Online by Featured Businesses
We all know the power of social media to connect people and promote events, so part of our ask of you as a featured business is to to help get the word out! Please share, post, shout-out, quote, cheer for, represent, and all out get crazy about the Cambridge Business Crawl online. We all need to work together to make this event a success, so let’s shout it from the rooftop! There is a list of participating businesses included. Please like and follow each other as well. 
Remember to invite your friends to like Cambridge Business Crawl and also invite them to the event Cambridge Business Crawl. 

Your ShopCambridge Profile
There is a link from the main website to each business’ profile on ShopCambridge.ca. Please visit www.shopcambridge.ca and search for your business to ensure that your profile is up to date as this is where participants will be directed.  If you need help with this please contact Heather via heather@shopcambridge.ca for support. 


Event Promotion-Organizer
As organizer, ShopCambridge.ca will be promoting the event through all social channels and in the community with posters placed around Cambridge on community boards and in local supporting businesses (we will make sure you get one or two). Intrigue Media is sponsoring a digital ad campaign that will air on the Intrigue Media networks throughout Cambridge.

We have now launched a Facebook Page, a Twitter account, an Instagram Profile and a Facebook event. Promotion for this event will largely be handled online, with Advertising dollars from Meridian Credit Union spent on sponsored posts and social ads. We will be asking our followers, customers and friends to participate! The more participation we have from all 15 businesses , the greater participation we will have in the Crawl and everyone will benefit.
