Thank You for Supporting the 2017 Cambridge Business Crawl

We are so glad you are on board to support the 2017 Cambridge Business Crawl this year! Thank you for your excitement about the event as we approach the launch next week. We wanted to make sure you know what role you will play in the Crawl this year, so here are all the details:

What’s expected of you:

As a “Supporting Business” you agree to host a Cambridge Business Crawl ballot box in your location by offering a $50 gift card to your store. The ballot box and ballots will be provided to you before Monday, October 2, 2017 – the beginning of the Business Crawl. The ballot box will stay in your location until noon on Friday, October 27, 2017 when we will collect all the ballots so we can draw winners at our Wrap-Up BBQ at the Hespeler Meridian Credit Union branch starting at 2pm. 

What to tell your customers: 

Any customer is eligible to fill out a ballot in your store. To stay within the rules as a “contest” we cannot require that a shopper purchase something in your store to receive a ballot. Please feel free to offer ballots to your existing customers in addition to those who will swing by while they participate in the Business Crawl. 

The Business Crawl runs from 9am on Monday, October 2^nd to 3pm on Saturday, October 28^th. There are two ways to enter to win a prize during the Crawl:

The Grand Prize – $1,500 Shop Local Shopping Spree
To enter for a chance to win this prize, shoppers must visit each of the 15 Featured Businesses on the Crawl passport (they can be found listed here). These passports are available for pick-up at each of the 15 Featured Businesses, both of the Meridian Credit Union branches and at the Supporting Businesses (they can be found listed here). Once a shopper has received all 15 stamps on their passport they can submit their passport in the Draw Box at either Meridian branch. One lucky shopper will win $1,500 in gift cards ($100 from each of the 15 Featured Businesses). 

Extra Prizes – $50 gift cards to local businesses
To enter for a chance to win one of over 20 gift cards to local businesses involved in the Crawl, shoppers must fill out ballots across the city. There will be ballot boxes setup at each of the 15 Featured Business stops and at the Supporting Business locations (that’s you). This is a great option for someone who feels they just can’t make it to all 15 Featured Business stops, or for anyone who wants to enter for the Grand Prize and additional prizes. One ballot per customer at each location, please. 

There is no purchase necessary to be involved in any part of this contest. Which means, someone may visit your business just to fill out a ballot – this is okay by the Official Rules. The point is to get people out to see your business, and though we hope they purchase something when they stop by it is not required for them to enter either contest. 

All prizes will be drawn during our Wrap-Up BBQ, which runs from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday, October 28^th at the Meridian Credit Union branch at 125 Dundas St N #1  ( exact time may change, we will keep you posted). All winners will be contacted that day to let them know their name was drawn. All prizes will be picked up at the Meridian branch. 

Here’s where we work together – please encourage your customers not only to participate in the Crawl by picking up a passport, but by visiting the other Supporting Businesses to fill out ballots. This is about working together, supporting each other and having a lot of fun doing it! 

What are we responsible for:

We will be delivering a package to you later this week. This package will include: your ballot box, ballots, a poster about the Crawl, passports, a passport holder and our contact information. We will also email a file so that you can print more ballots as needed. 

Later this week your logo and a link to your store details on your ShopCambridge profile will be listed on the Business Crawl website. Check back here to see the other  businesses joining you as Supporters – cambridge.businesscrawl.ca/Ballots. We will be announcing your involvement on social media later this week too! 

We will be collecting the ballots at the end, sending you a list of emails from your box and contacting the winners, so all you have to worry about is welcoming the customer who comes to redeem their prize after the Crawl.
